Connected Robots and Live Data
Your child connects a robot to the internet. It fetches live weather, builds dashboards, and works like a smart home device. Except your child built it.
This module connects the robot to the real world. Your child learns how AI works at scale: collecting data, sending it to the cloud, and getting intelligence back.
It starts with connecting the robot to WiFi. Suddenly it can fetch live weather data and announce: "It is 14 degrees and rainy today. You should bring an umbrella!" It does this on demand, just like a smart speaker. Except your child built the whole thing.
Then they go deeper. The robot continuously measures light, sound, and temperature, uploading data to a live dashboard. Your child opens a screen and shows a real-time chart updating as conditions change. Turn off the lights and the graph drops instantly. Clap loudly and the sound spike appears. Data science, visualized and tangible.
By the end, your child has built a connected IoT device: it collects environmental data, uploads to the cloud, receives commands remotely, and makes decisions based on cloud analysis. The same principle behind every smart home device, except they understand how it works because they built it.

What your child shows you at the end
Weather Reporter Bot
The robot connects to the internet, fetches the live weather for Coquitlam, and announces: "It is 14 degrees and rainy today. You should bring an umbrella!" Your child built an IoT device that connects to real cloud data, the same principle behind smart home devices.
What you see: Your child built a smarter version of your Google Home.
Room Environment Dashboard
The robot continuously measures light, sound, and temperature, uploading data to a live chart. Turn off the lights and the graph drops instantly. Clap loudly and the sound spike appears. Data science, visualized and tangible.
What your child will experience
Connect to the internet
The robot goes online, fetches live data like weather and news, and displays it on its screen.
Build a live dashboard
Your child sends sensor readings to the cloud and builds a real-time chart that updates as conditions change.
Learn what an API is
The robot calls web services to get information. Your child understands how apps talk to each other.
Smart home simulator
The robot monitors light, temperature, and sound, then triggers actions automatically. Same logic behind every smart home device.
Tell a story with data
Your child transforms raw sensor numbers into charts and insights. Turn off the lights and watch the graph drop.
Present the connected robot
The final project is a robot that collects environmental data, uploads it to the cloud, and makes decisions based on live analysis.
This module is shaped by your child
We do not teach from a fixed script. During early sessions, we observe what excites your child most, then guide them to set a personal goal for this module. The content and pace are tailored to match their curiosity, so every session feels like it was made for them.
